What I love about therapy is that they’ll tell you what your blind spots are…although that (can be) uncomfortable and painful, it gives you something to work with” -P!NK

Isn’t it great that we live in a time that therapy is more accessible, and accepted, than it ever has been? Part of that accessibility is the growth of telehealth. HIPAA-compliant Zoom is used for sessions. All you have to do is easily download the Zoom app to your device and click on the link I send you.

Strengths-based Counseling to help you Take Care of You

Life can be overwhelming, and there’s no reason to go through the overwhelm alone. Sometimes talking it through with someone is all you need, but sometimes you might need more. I believe everyone has the strength inside of them to conquer what ails them; sometimes people need help tapping into that strength. Together we can figure out what approach(es) would work best for your life situation and go from there! Below are some of the approaches that are offered (click on pic for description).

About Me

Hello! Thanks for visiting the Take Care of You website, congratulations on taking the first brave step in seeking therapy!

I’m Amie Hanson, owner of Take Care of You Counseling Services. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor through the states of North Carolina and Virginia. I graduated from Capella University in 2012 with an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling.  I have gained a variety of experiences since then, from being an in-home therapist for kids, to a therapist at a Domestic Violence safe house, to an in-school therapist through an agency, and being a therapist for private practice. My previous career was that of a teacher, where I also gained valuable experiences that gave great insight into human behavior.
